Statistical Essays

The launching of ILLiad at Virginia Tech on March 17, 1997 enabled us to examine a variety of statistical data with three goals in mind:

  1. To understand our borrowers
  2. To understand our lenders
  3. To understand our business

From time to time over the years we have posted some of this data to listservs devoted to interlibrary loan. Responses from readers indicate that wider dissemination of the data could be useful to others wishing to compare ILL operations at different institutions. Thus, we have collected these brief reports about ILL at Virginia Tech for easy access. Also included here are historical announcements about the launching of ILLiad services and a published article about borrowers' electronic delivery preferences.
