Virginia Tech Online Resources The online resources listed here may help you to verify article titles, journal titles, page numbers, etc. before you submit your request to ILL.
Addison Please check Addison to make sure that the item you are requesting through ILL is not owned by the University Libraries. We cancel about 21% of all ILL requests because the items are already on the shelves of the library.
Virginia Tech Electronic Theses and Dissertations Virginia Tech theses and dissertations written since January 1997 are available only online through the VT ETD web page. Theses and dissertations from earlier years are being added to the electronic collection as time and resources allow.

Library Courier Service Request Menu If you are in Blacksburg and need an item from a branch library location (Architecture, Northern Virginia Center, or Vet Med ), please use this form to request delivery of the item by the Library Courier Service. Note that items in Storage can be recalled using the Request Item icon when Addison displays the item you want.
Hold/Recall Form If an item is checked out on Addison, you can recall it from circulation by logging into Addison's My Library Record. Please contact the Circulation Desk for additional information about books that are checked out or not on the shelves.
Library Operating Hours Interlibrary Loan is open from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM weekdays.

UMI Dissertation Publishing UMI Dissertation Publishing is a division of ProQuest. The company holds copies of doctoral dissertations from most American universities. This service is still frequently referred to simply as UMI (University Microfilms International) because that company provided the service for several decades. Various searching and ordering options are available. This may be the only way to acquire certain dissertations written at some institutions.
